An Industrial Engineer II will support the Sasol Operations Standards framework by applying in-depth industrial engineering (IE) skills, techniques, and knowledge to leverage company resources to rationalise, optimise and improve both production and non-production processes.

Support and execute the Operations support mandate as translated into IE influenced initiatives. It will deliver services and intelligence in line with industrial engineering, in the assigned operations hub.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Business Results:

  • Deliver services and intelligence in line with industrial engineering, in the assigned OME
  • Enable the Sasol Operations Standards framework by evaluating the strategic asset life-cycle value optimisation for all assets impacted by the company’s long-term strategy
  • Identifying opportunities via system analysis and develop and implement lean, practical and focused business solutions
  • Enable and improve plant X implementation in the OME
  • Identify improvement opportunities
  • Investigate opportunities, design practical solutions and sustainably implementation
  • Supporting and enabling the Sasol Operations Standards framework by applying industrial engineering skills, techniques, and knowledge to leverage company resources to rationalise, optimise and improve both production and non-production processes
  • Support candidate industrial engineers
  • Assure operating performance and drive improvements within operations
  • Develop practical implementation solutions for processes governed by plant X design
  • Establish, and assure a standardized approach to strategic asset life-cycle value optimisation within the operations framework
  • Provides input into the high-level IE improvement plan
  • Influence and assist operations hub in the roll-out & sustained application of improvement solutions developed
  • Participate in communities of practice to embed the asset management principles and continuous improvement
  • Translate and cascade IE goals into own performance goals
  • Improve on processes
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement improvement solutions
  • Demonstrate One Sasol way behaviour
  • Manage multi-level interfaces and integrate effectively. Interact with relevant internal and external stakeholders

Formal Education

  • B Eng Industrial (Must)

Min Experience

  • 5+ relevant years

Certification & Professional Membership

ECSA Registered Professional Engineer (wish)
