Apply for the FitMyCar $1,000 ‘Industrial Designers’ Scholarship. The idea behind this initiative is to “design an essential car accessory of the not-so-distant future (5-10 years)”

Purpose

The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide financial assistance to an industrial design/similar university or college student in the amount of $1000 to help pay for tuition, books, computers, accommodations, and any other educational expenses.

Why FitMyCar is giving cash away?

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected both the outlooks and future prospects of many university students. Some have delayed their graduations due to canceled internships or workplace layoffs/furloughs, working students have lost jobs, and some cannot continue with their studies at all due to the downturn in finances.

This scholarship is to ensure the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs are able to maintain expenses such as tuition fees, internet costs, counseling and mental health support, along with various other expenditures.

This scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students attending an accredited university or college within Australia or the United States. We have no GPA requirements and no application forms. This is our way of supporting individuals who want to pursue their goals through education.

Application Criteria

• Must be a legal resident of Australia or the U.S., or a holder of a valid student visa.
• Must be currently enrolled in or accepted to a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an accredited college/university in either the United States or Australia.
• Must be an industrial design/similar student
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Applivation should concisely detail:
  -a description of the new product
  -the intended mass audience / end user
  -installation instructions a non-technical person is expected to follow for use
  -annotated images of their design
• Design requirements:
  – human scale finished product designs (person in design to assess ergonomics)
  -multiple colour options
  -material and texture descriptions
  -instructions for moving parts or parts which require custom fitment
  -environment considerations
• The accessory should meet a real world audience (think families, pets, SUVs) work in cars in the not-so-distant future (think increase in EVs and driverless) and be installable by a non-mechanical end user.
