FULLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP TO STUDY MASTERS DEGREE IN HUMAN RIGHTS, PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT AT AFRICA UNIVERSITY

The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI), in partnership with the Africa University is implementing a scholarship programme for Zimbabwean students, who have already completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant major, to study towards a Masters Degree in Human Rights, Peace and Development, at the Institute of Peace, Leadership and Governance (IPLG), at AU.


Background 

University students of today are the leaders of tomorrow. In light of this, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute believes that the next generation of Zimbabwean human rights professionals has an important role to play in contributing to the promotion and protection of human rights in the Zimbabwe. RWI thus focuses in its Zimbabwe Human Rights Capacity Development Programme on, inter alia, improving the quality of human rights education at academic institutions in Zimbabwe, as well as increasing opportunities for Zimbabweans to study human rights. In this vein, RWI, in partnership with Africa University (AU), hereby announces five (5) full scholarships for Zimbabwean students,  who have already completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant major, to study towards the Master’s Degree in Human Rights, Peace and Development, at the Institute of Peace, Leadership and Governance (IPLG), at AU. The duration of the Programme is three semesters, with scholarship recipients commencing their studies in August 2021.

Costs covered

 The scholarships will cover the following costs: application, registration, tuition and graduation fees, accommodation and meals, a living allowance, health insurance, book allowance, among other budgeted costs.
