Plumber (Wet Trade) Post at Rand Water

To ensure that allocated plants/facilities are kept to a presentable, safe and reliable standard as required by Rand Water with regards to all general plumbing work associated with plant, buildings, residential property, recreational facilities, connecting and disconnecting of pipes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or N3 Plumbing/ Civil engineering
  • Recognized trade test in Plumbing
  • A minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience in plumbing environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to pass Rand Water K53 test.

Primary Duties

  • General maintenance, installation and fabrication of domestic plumbing equipment and raw pipelines.
  • Do all daily, weekly, monthly and annual scheduled plumbing maintenance tasks.
  • Investigate and repair all breakdowns.
  • Record work done on job cards and work schedules
  • Complete all Planned Maintenance (Safety schedules, routing maintenance)
  • Give inputs and execute plant improvements and modification
  • Plan daily tasks and ensure that all material, tools, assistants, transport and equipment is available, including delegation of duties assistants.
  • On the job training to be given to new personnel and assistant as required or instructed.
  • To work overtime when required.
  • Act in the capacity of the Assistant Building Foreman from time to time
