To maintain good housekeeping of valve chambers, dewatering of valve chambers, opening and closing of manual valves when isolating pump sets and pipelines. Maintain trench pumps, portable generators and hand held actuators and hand tools and make sure they are in good condition. To report unsafe act and/or working conditions as any abnormalities to his or her Supervisor

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12/N3 with Maths and Science
• Blue Drop Requirements: Level 1 Water Treatment Learnership will serve as an advantage.   
• Related cleaning experience and basic hand tools will serve as an advantage              
• Candidate must be Physically Fit  
• Knowledge of water pumping exposure will serve as an advantage  
• A valid driver’s licence and the ability to pass K53 test will serve as an advantage

Primary Duties

• Operation of electrical and hydraulic valve actuators including large hand tools
• Operation of portable trench pumps and generators
• Assist in scouring of pipelines by means of diesel and portable pumps
• Dewatering of valve chambers
