The UN VOLUNTEER JOBS Being offered

Air Operations Assistant

Eligibility criteria Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations. Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Ramp Manager , Air Terminal Unit, the UN Volunteer Jobs will undertake the following tasks:

  • Ensure safe and professional conduct of all ground activities on the ramp and airside;
  • Monitor control of all vehicles, cargo and personnel movement on the ramp/apron area;
  • Monitor operational condition of ramp/apron, runway, taxiway and lighting systems as applicable and report conditions to Airfield Manager;
  • Monitor control of access points;
  • Monitor fueling operations to ensure all safety instructions are followed and report any unsafe operations;
  • Monitor to ensure only authorized personnel; vehicle drivers and operators gain access to the ramp/apron;
  • Monitor and control apron/ramp authorization passes;
  • Ensure effective coordination between Air Traffic Services (ATS), MOVCON, AIROPS Center and Ramp Management is carried out as required;
  • Monitor all coordination with CAA marshals and ATS, aircraft are marshalled and parked in a manner that is safe and expeditious, while providing the separation between aircraft and between aircraft and obstacles as laid down in the relevant CAA documents; #UN VOLUNTEER JOBS
  • Provide AIROPS Center information on condition and serviceability of the parking and landing areas;
  • Monitor all personnel on the apron/ramp to ensure that flight line procedures are followed;
  • Prepare daily situational report (SITREP) and ramp hazard report
  • Monitor, detect and intervene any unsafe operations on the apron/ramp;
  • Report in writing any breaches of instructions, regulations and safety procedures to ATU and ensure immediate cessation of any such activities;
  • Provide Ground handling Services e.g. towing, Ground Power Unit etc. to UNMISS contracted aircraft.
  • Attend briefings as arranged and given by the AIROPS Center and update ATU of such briefings;
  • Perform any other duties as may be required

Human Resources Officer

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Chief of Human Resources or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer jobs as Human Resources Officer will perform the following tasks:

  1. Learning and Capacity Development
  • In collaboration with business owners, support the design and delivery of learning plans for staff.
  • Contribute to the mapping of competencies for all staff included in the assigned portfolio, assisting in the development of a comprehensive framework in support of the development of the talent pipeline.
  • Research on efficient and cost-effective learning products which enable staff to develop their skills and competencies. #UN VOLUNTEER JOBS
  • Participate as a resource person in capacity building initiatives to enhance the competencies of clients/stakeholders.
  • Provide orientation briefing to new staff.
  1. Performance Management
  • Supports to ensure staff compliance with performance management requirements and effective performance management.

  • Collect, interpret, and analyze HR data to help inform decision making on HR processes and strategies.
  • Support the development and implementation of data collection systems to optimize data quality.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Judicial Affairs Officer

Eligibility criteriaMinimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Office of Rule of Law/Justice and Corrections Section (OROL/JCS), Mitrovica Unit, the UN Volunteer Jobs will undertake the following tasks:

  • Gather information and report on the activity of Kosovo’s rule of law institutions with the special focus on the Northern Kosovo.
  • Gather information and report on the rule of law activities of international partners with a special focus on the activity of EU in Kosovo.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on a variety of issues relating to the justice and corrections sector in Kosovo in general based on the applicable law, international law and international human rights law.
  • Develop and review programmatic activities projects’ and assist in reporting thereof. #UN VOLUNTEER JOBS
  • Participate, take minutes and report on the Rule of Law Civil Society Coordination Meeting.
  • Liaise and maintain relations with local and international actors represented in Kosovo for the provision of support in the justice and corrections sector.
  • Participate and contribute to the monitoring and reporting of the Mitrovica Regional Office on rule of law related matters of major concern to Office of Rule of Law/Justice and Corrections Section and the Mission in general.

  • Perform such other duties as may be required in furtherance of the work of the OROL/JCS and the implementation of the Mission’s mandate.

Master’s degree or equivalent in law is required.

A Bachelor’s degree in law in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of Master’s degree.

Progremme Specialist (Humanitarian Peace and Development)

Eligibility criteriaMinimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of SRF Coordinator, and in close collaboration with other colleagues of the team and the Regional Hub, the UN VOLUNTEER JOBS as Program Specialist will:

Take the lead in advancing the Resilience Response to Syria Crisis – in particular Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus (HDPN) and other emerging resilience issues.

  • Initiate and lead all aspects of a policy related brief “After ten years of Syria Crisis: Moving from Humanitarian Assistance to Development and Peace – Breaking the cycle of protracted crises and re-thinking the nexus approach”.
  • In the context of protracted crisis, analyze the relationship between the three concepts of humanitarian assistance, peace building and development and how they impact each other. #UN VOLUNTEER JOBS
  • Build a theoretical framework on integrating humanitarian assistance and development in the context of a protracted crisis and apply this framework practically to the reality of program implementation in the Syria Crisis affected countries.
  • Develop recommendations on how to shape the existing Syria crisis response to better respond to the needs in a protracted context, paying specific attention to the relationship between the three aspects humanitarian, development and peace work.
  • Discuss theoretical frameworks and programmatic and policy recommendations with team and Hub colleagues.
  • Support recruited interns on developing ideas and drafting reports and policy briefs in the areas of peacebuilding and crisis response.
  • As requested by the SRF coordinator, interface with relevant stakeholders, including Governments, Bilateral, UN Agencies, Country Offices, IFIs, Think Tanks, Academia and CSOs

Support the SRF Coordinator in developing strategic and programmatic recommendations for improved coordination and coherence of the UN and UNDP’s regional response to the Syrian Crisis and beyond

  • Critically analyze the SRF’s strategic inputs and ensure that they are accurate and reflective of UNDP’s position.
  • Develop, manage and coordinate critical research studies and initiatives to fill regional knowledge gaps to UNDP’s crisis response.
  • Provide targeted innovation and technical support to the 3RP countries as required.
  • Provide trend analysis and reporting support for UNDP’s regional coordinating role of the 3RP, specifically in the production of indicator tracking dashboards and qualitative content to global bi-annual reporting on response plans.
  • Coordinate discussion with SRF Country Office Focal Points and colleagues on research ideas, knowledge gaps in the field and share drafts for their review.
  • Ensure the implementation of the resource mobilization strategy (in strengthening resilience response) through conceptualizing and advocating current and new programmatic areas as required, including interface with donors.
  • Contextualize recent stabilization research and approaches to the RBAS HUB colleagues and country offices.
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor. #UN VOLUNTEER JOBS

Support the SRF team in the following (but not limited to);

  • Working closely with M&E specialist in 3RP related issues; collecting additional inputs for 3RP publications and ensure data submitted by country offices.
  • Assist Resilience Policy and Partnership Specialist in overseeing and supporting research activities, engaging UNDP Country Offices in inter-agency platforms and in additional partnership efforts linked to advocacy and resource mobilization.
