Clover has an exciting opportunity for the unemployed youth to join the Production and Distribution department. The purpose of the program is to provide you with 12 months work experience. These positions are based at Clover’s branches, including Clayville, Roodepoort, CDC KZN, Port Elizabeth, Queensburgh and Atlas Distribution). Clover is committed to upskilling the youth of South Africa.

Requirements

Who can apply can apply for the Clover YES Programme?

South African Youth who:
• are between 18 and 35 years old;
• have a matric qualification;
• are currently unemployed;
• have not participated in a YES Programme with another organisation before

Competencies

• Communicate effectively;
• Act with honesty and consistency;
• Customer orientated;
• Results driven;

Duties and Responsibilities

Setup, maintain and operate laboratory equipment 

  • Prepare and maintain stocks of chemical reagents and microbiological reagents/cultures/media 
  • Operate laboratory equipment in line with the standard operating procedures 

 Conduct sampling and testing 

  • Prepare and analyse samples 
  • Isolate and identify microbial contaminants 
  • Perform routine chemical/microbiological analysis 
  • Report results of analyses 
  • Maintain records of all testing 
  • Prepare microbiology-related validations and prLABOotocols 
  • Interpret results and provide feedback 

 Record keeping and reporting 

  • Adhere to the standard regarding record keeping and reporting 

Operate, monitor and control allocated downstream packaging equipment and activities on the production line  

  • Prepare, start up, monitor & maintain and shutdown packaging equipment within the scope of authority
  • Monitor critical parameters and solve problems 
  • Capture data (control sheets) 
  • Prepare the work area for maintenance and reinstate after maintenance is complete
  • Issue job cards for non scheduled maintenance 
  • Complete daily and weekly production maintenance schedules 

 Sample and test packaging quality  

  • Monitor critical parameters and solve problems  
  • Capture data (control sheets) 

 Maintain safety, health and environmental standards and good manufacturing practices 

  • Work in a safe manner at all times 
  • Ensure downstream plant cleanliness 
  • Adhere to energy saving principles 

Collect and deliver mail, parcels and general documentation 

  • Complete delivery documentation 
  • Deliver mail etc. to correct destination 
  • Collect mail etc. as required 
  • Complete vehicle logbook  
  • Maintain sound customer relations  

Perform basic/general tasks  

  • Complete basic tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures 
  • Handling products 
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations 
  • Maintain housekeeping standards 
  • Any ad-hoc tasks as required by management 

Maintain productivity 

  • Load vehicles according to slot times 
  • Ensure proper housekeeping in the Warehouse 
  • Accept responsibility for SHE for Warehouse
