  • VACANCY: COMPLIANCE ADMINISTRATOR
  • TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: FIXED TERM (12 MONTHS)
  • GRADE: C-LOWER
  • DIVISION: FINANCE

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • The purpose of this position includes:
    • Providing administrative support to the Risk Department in the execution of the Exco approved risk management plan.
    • Responsible for supporting statutory assurance activities for the Compliance Function.

DIVERSITY OF WORK

  • Defines and manages setup and administration tasks for Risk Department.

DECISION MAKING

  • Basic understanding of risk governance and enterprise risk management practices to be able to make operational decisions that relate to day to day running of risk management activities and some level of tactical decisions to implement the risk management strategy.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report incidents to appropriate associates and ensure incidents are logged on risk information system and linked to operational risks and company risks.
  • Assist in the preparation and tracking of SHEQ related audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Safety Health Environmental policies and procedures in line with set standards.
  • Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations.
  • Assist with the tracking and monitoring of Management frameworks, polices and plans.
  • Ensure that all minutes for meetings are correctly complied and timeously distributed.
  • Assist with the compilation of risk and business continuity management reports to various committee.
  • Provide support to all information owners and capturers on the Risk Information Tool.
  • Conduct operational risk reviews and ensure alignment with approved risk framework.
  • Prepare and maintain information and documentation for Risk Management, Compliance, Combined Assurance and Business Continuity Management related reporting and presentation purposes.
  • Coordinate the consolidation of the Risk Department’s monthly reports and ensure timeous submission to relevant members of the Risk Management forums.
  • Train users on functionality of risk information system used by Rand Refinery.
  • Presentation of basic risk and Business Continuity awareness programmes.
  • Build strong relationships with management, operations and other staff to further the purpose of the role; work across functions, regions and business units to effectively further the Company’s compliance program.
  • Ensure values embedded and entropy (Barret) within the Risk Department

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A completed Matric Certificate qualification.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with at least a NQF level 7 tertiary qualification in:
    • Business Management;
    • Auditing;
    • Law/Compliance; and
    • Risk Management.
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in Compliance/Law would serve as an advantage.
  • At least 2-5 years of working experience within a Risk, Legal or Compliance Management environment.

  • Good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and willingness to share knowledge within the team
  • Report writing and documentation skills. 
  • Make decisions and work towards and meet deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Assist in co-ordination risk department related projects.
  • Manage priorities and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Be a self- starter.
