The Northern Cape Department of Sport, Arts and Culture is inviting applications for its 24-month Graduate Internship Programme in Kimberley. Four internship opportunities are available in Zoology, Library and Archive Services, Sport and Club Development, and Human Resource Utilisation and Development.

Available Internship Opportunities

1. Graduate Internship: Zoology

Location: Kimberley
Stipend: R8,174.75 per month

Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, Biology, Ecology, Conservation Biology or a related field at NQF Level 7.

An Honours degree in Zoology or Biodiversity will be an added advantage.

2. Graduate Internship: Library & Archive Services

Location: Kimberley
Stipend: R8,174.75 per month

Applicants should have a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science, at NQF Level 6 or 7.

Strong organisational, administrative and ICT skills are required. PSV CIRCULAR 35 of 2026

3. Graduate Internship: Sport & Club Development

Location: Kimberley
Stipend: R8,174.75 per month

Applicants should have a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, Sport Science or a related field, at NQF Level 6 or 7.

The department is looking for candidates with strong communication, coordination, research and administrative skills. PSV CIRCULAR 35 of 2026

4. Graduate Internship: Human Resource Utilisation and Development

Location: Kimberley
Stipend: R8,174.75 per month

Applicants should have a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Development at NQF Level 6 or 7.

Skills in planning, organising, communication, computer literacy and report writing are required. PSV CIRCULAR 35 of 2026

What Will Interns Do?

Successful interns will receive structured workplace exposure and training relevant to their fields of study. They will participate in workplace activities, projects and capacity-building initiatives under the supervision of experienced professionals. PSV CIRCULAR 35 of 2026

Eligibility Requirements

The programme is specifically intended for unemployed South African citizens.

Applicants must also not have previously participated in an internship programme within a National or Provincial Government Department or State Institution. Applicants are required to provide proof of residence issued by the relevant Local Municipality or Traditional Authority. PSV CIRCULAR 35 of 2026

This requirement is particularly important for international applicants. Non-South African citizens should not apply where they do not meet the stated citizenship requirement.
