REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must be in possession of an appropriate National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; Must have four (4) years post-graduation experience workshop (minor and major plant) in workshop construction, dam building and roadworks environment; Must possess the following skill and personal attribute: machinery, planning and organizing, safety, computer, finance, HR matters, advance skills regarding the performance of engineering technical duties in the maintenance and operation of various equipment, project management, interpersonal relations General administration, computer and report writing skills. Excellent communication skills, work under pressure, work in a team, must be willing to work irregular hours. A valid driver’s license at least code 8 (attach a copy).

DUTIES: Incumbent will be responsible for planning and allocation of resources within his/her section that contribute to work processes. Responsible for junior staff and day to day supervision and in house training; Monitor expenses related to projects for which they are directly responsible; Liaises with multidiscipline line function areas within the Department to gather information required to process designs, give advice or construct structures; Liaises with support functional areas to arrange for supply chain, human resources and finance needs; Design equipment, systems, structures and installations Inspect and/or test equipment, systems, structures and installations; Give guidance and advice to other personnel, consultants and independent contractors; Compile quantity list for tender purposes; Construct and develop new/existing equipment. Must be able to execute instructions from Supervisor and support site management.
