Provide Technical support to maintenance team (Manager, Foreman, Fitters, Planner and Buyer) by applying theoretical skills, making suggestions, and independently implementing solutions to optimize mechanical systems.

  • Assist Maintenance Manager in ensuring that self and the team meet agreed targets, due dates, quality standards and good feedback communication with all stakeholders.
  • Responsible to ensure that the MOC procedure is adhered to for all changes and scope of work compilation.
  • Support Asset Management philosophy.
  • The co-ordination of the execution of maintenance strategies.
  • Assist with RBI studies and the Maintenance strategy process to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Can create quality control plans and manage the execution through its life cycle.
  • Optimize and control resources effectively.
  • Perform all tasks cost consciously.
  • Apply safety in all practices, specifically project planning and execution.
  • Improve own skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure that personal development plan is completed, implemented and tracked.
  • Agree and review personal performance goals and the achievement thereof.
  • Update performance goals and performance agreement regularly.
  • Manage own work time keeping and planning.
  • Review compliance and follow up against the standards and objectives.
  • Share and implement new ideas regarding work.
  • Identify optimization opportunities.
  • Actively participate in critical thinking and problem-solving matters such as risk assessments, RCAs, and field investigations.

Formal Education

  • B Tech or B.Eng Mechanical Engineering NQF 7

Min Experience

  • 4+ relevant years (hazardous chemical or refinery experience)

Certification & Professional Membership

  • ECSA Registration (wish)
