The University of Pretoria is hiring Security Officers (23 Posts)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To provide a security service to the university property, staff, students and other stakeholders. Responsible to guard university property and assets and create a safe and secure environment. In the execution of duties also monitor and report incidents observed. This includes responsibilities related to traffic, gate, undercover, patrol and events / ad-hoc tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 6
6 Months experience in a Security Environment
PSIRA Grade C

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

Security operational skills
Customer service skills
Communication skills
Access control procedures
Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. Regulation of Security Officers Act, National Road Traffic Act and Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act.

The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
