Building Foreman vacancy at Rand Water

To manage and control the activities of the Building Maintenance Section and to ensure the rendering of effective and efficient service by this section. To ensure full compliance with the OHS Act in respect of the Rand Water Scientific Services premises and other sites such as hostels and other facilities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 Or equivalent
  • Electrical / Mechanical Artisan qualification or preferred Electrical / Mechanical Diploma
  • 2 Years’ experience as an Electrical / mechanical Foreman or Supervisor
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Sound Knowledge of the OHASA and Preventative Maintenance Methodology
  • Computer Literate
  • Sound knowledge of related systems and technology
  • Code B drivers’

Primary Duties

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of electrical and plumbing reticulation of a large modern building
  • Thorough working knowledge of a large central air conditioning plant
  • Managing the Electrical air conditioning system controls and or Building Management system
  • Thorough working knowledge of electronic maintenance system (MAXIMO)
  • Client service orientation
  • Ability to comply and control suitable working budgets for building Maintenance and associated
  • Good business acumen and thorough knowledge of contractors and good practices
  • Good design knowledge of furniture, layouts and space design
  • Thorough knowledge of the OHS Act to ensure a safe working environment
  • Understanding and good interpersonal skills, good negotiator
  • Good Project Management skills
  • Thorough working knowledge of all aspects of maintenance of a large corporate building
