Requirements: LLB or equivalent legal qualification. Prescribed experience requirement is as follows: MR1– no previous legal experience required. MR2– at least 1-years’ appropriate post qualification legal experience. MR3– at least 2-years’ appropriate post qualification legal experience. MR4– at least 8-years’ appropriate post qualification legal experience. MR5– at least 14-years’ appropriate post qualification legal experience. Computer literate. Valid driver’s licence (not applicable to applicants with a dis- ability).

Responsibilities: Administration and handling of litigation for and against the department. Initiation of policy amendments in the department. Rendering of legal advice on the activities of the department. Provide legal training. Represent the department at various forums. Undertaking of hearings/trials administration. Maintenance of legal libraries. Planning of activities. Management of human resources, finance and assets. Manage performance information.
