Civil Engineering Graduate Programme Position at Anglo American Kumba Iron Ore in Centurion, South Africa
As a Professional In Training (PIT): Civil Engineer within Anglo American, you will learn how to assist in delivering best practice support. You will be required to register annually as a candidate engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). The role will have a strong focus on various facets of civil engineering, including project management, design, and safety compliance. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced mentors, contribute to capital projects, and immerse yourself in the exciting world of mining and infrastructure. You will facilitate effective communication between all relevant stakeholders and ensure that regular updates are completed in a timely manner.
This is an exciting opportunity for graduates who want to have a smarter future within mining. Initially, you will be offered a three-year graduate programme with the Company’s Southern Africa Business Unit rotating to one or more of the Comoany’s sites where possible. You have the chance to make a difference in real projects and follow a structured learning development journey.

Qualifications
- Have a BEng or BSc Degree (NQF 7 or 8) in Civil Engineering.
- Have completed your degree or are due to graduate by December 2023.
- Have no more than two years of relevant work experience.
- Be a team player with strong leadership potential.
- Demonstrate drive, ambition, and a passion for challenging work in our operations.
- Be available to work in remote areas of South Africa as our operations are in the Northern Cape and you will be located in Sishen or Kolomela mine.
- This role requires a high level of mobility. You are encouraged to obtain a driver’s license.
