Georgetown Africa Business Conference (GTABC) Case Competition

Join the challenge to shape Africa’s future! Georgetown Africa Business case competition is looking for students with ideas on how to solve problems (with business and policy) by harnessing opportunities on the continent. Showcase your business and diplomacy skills and help solve real-world challenges in Africa. Are you ready to make your mark on the continent? Eligibility Criteria:

All students on the team must be a current undergraduate (Bachelors) or postgraduate (Masters or PhD-level) at any university in the world during the 2022/2023 academic year. However, the team lead must be a current graduate student. Students on a team do not have to all come from the same school.
Students must form a team of 3 to 5 students in order to participate.
Teams must appoint a team lead to fill out this form. One form per team should be submitted.
If students do not have a team or have less than the minimum of 3 required, and interested in the competition, please reach out to the case competition lead at [email protected] to be placed on a team, or to get an additional team member. In the subject line please put “Case competition”.

Timeline:

Feb 17, 2023 – Mar 2, 2023 (Registration Period)
March 2, 2023 – (All registration materials need to be submitted by March 2nd via this form).
March 3, 2023 – Case Prompt Released – (Case materials will be emailed to the designated team leader)
April 3, 2023 – 1st Round Deadline
April 14, 2023 – Finalist Announced
April 29, 2023 – Final presentation at GTABC Conference (Virtual/In-person) | Winners announced

Awards / Incentives for Teams:

1st place – $5000
2nd place – $3000
3rd place (Audience prize) – $1500
All finalists will receive free tickets to Georgetown Africa Business Conference & Gala tickets
Each team will be receiving a mentor that we have partnered with from renowned companies in the US.
There will also be additional opportunities to incubate your idea beyond the competition through our partnerships.
