BMW Group South Africa is currently sourcing for candidates to join its organisation as part of the vocational training team based in Plant Rosslyn.

  • You are responsible for the leadership of around 20 apprentices for the profession “Autotronics/Transportation Electrician.”
  • You develop innovative new learning and training concepts for the job profile you supervise and implement them holistically.
  • You will also analyze and integrate the latest technologies into the apprentice training for training purposes.
  • Your tasks as a manager/supervisor include the independent planning, conception, design, scheduling and implementation of the apprentice training, considering syllabus requirements from merSETA, QCTO, NAMB and BMW Group SA, and readying the learners for trade test.
  • The transfer of technical and process competence, the quality review and assurance of the necessary learning content and objectives, and the preparation of individual measures to achieve the necessary results are among your wide range of tasks.
  • You are responsible for designing and implementing external and internal events.
  • The organization and implementation of training courses and recruiting days round off your job profile.
  • Support in maintaining a high standard of housekeeping, storage of tools/equipment and associated inventory maintenance.
  • Supervising routine inspections on training machines/equipment in the Training Academy.
  • Maintaining compliance to Occupational Health and Safety requirements, as per the OHS Act and regulations, as well as BMW South Africa’s ISO 45001 certified system.

Qualification:

  • Qualification in the field of Autotronics, Automotive Electrician, Transportation Electrician, Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification.
  • Completed trainer/facilitator training.
  • Registered merSETA assessor (advantageous).
  • Registered merSETA moderator (advantageous).
  • At least 3 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in facilitating training required.
  • Experience in vehicle control technology, diagnostics, testing and analysis.
  • Experience in concept development for Autotronics/Transportation Electrician learnerships and preparation for the final trade test.
  • Very good communication and presentation skills and enjoy working with young people.
  • In possession of a valid passport.
  • Willing to travel locally and internationally when required.
