About the Central Energy Fund (CEF)

CEF is a Schedule 2 state owned diversified energy company reporting to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy. The Mandate of CEF is to contribute to the security of energy supply of South Africa and the Region through exploration, acquisition, development, marketing and strategic partnership. It is derived from the CEF Act (No 38 of 1977) and the Ministerial directives issued thereafter.

Role Summary/Purpose:

The purpose of the programme is to expose the unemployed graduates with hands-on experience that include formal performance feedback & coaching and departmental rotations to help them transition into the workplace for the period of 24 months. CEF SOC is contributing towards skills development by providing graduates with opportunities to gain work experience in various skills areas. This program is open to University and College Graduates in the following disciplines who have completed their qualifications:

  1. Finance/ Supply Chain Management x2 (Reference: CEFGITFIN)
  • Qualification Requirements: B degree in Finance/B degree in Accounting/B degree in Logistic and/or Supply Chain, Computer Literacy in Ms Office
  1. Investment and Business Development x1 (Reference: CEFGITCOO)
  • Qualification Requirements: B degree in Finance/B degree in Investment, B degree in Accounting, Computer Literacy in Ms Office
  1. Corporate Communications x1 (Reference: CEFGITCOMM)
  • Qualification Requirements: B degree in Corporate Affairs/ Corporate Communications, Computer Literacy in Ms Office
  1. Human Capital x2 Reference: CEFGITHC)

Qualification Requirements: B degree in Human Resources/ Industrial Psychology/ Public Administration/ Public Management, Computer Literacy in Ms Office

Who qualifies for this programme?

  • be a South African Citizen
  • be between the age of 18 and 25 years
  • not registered or have been on any Learnership or Internship Programme previously or currently
  • have the ability to learn and multitask
