Short Description / Purpose of Job
Provide Technical support to Operations/Maintenance/Projects with respect to civil maintenance, modification, project, and contract management. Plan, and schedule, civil maintenance work and supervision civil engineering service providers
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance to ensure that the civil infrastructure is optimally maintained.
- Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities.
- Conduct job execution risk assessment
- Develop a quality management plan (QCP) and ensure that hold points on QCP are signed
- Conduct service provider’s technical and safety performance appraisal
- Planning and scheduling of maintenance work
- Control costs to ensure that maintenance and projects are executed within the budget
- Facilitate testing of construction materials and soil samples in laboratories
- Enable knowledge transfer through the coaching of others.
- Needs to be adaptable, self-driven, proactive and visible
- Build networks and relationships to increase knowledge of cross-functional areas
- Facilitate effective preventative maintenance of refractory, fireproofing, road, and building
- Ensures adherence to Engineering principles and legislation
- Quality check during task execution
- Conduct Planned Task observations
- Conduct fault finding on the water pipeline network
- Verification of underground services prior to excavation
Formal Education
- Civil Engineering Diploma
Min Experience
- 8+ relevant years
Functional Competencies
- Construction and maintenance of civil infrastructure will be an advantage
- Project management
- Knowledge of OSH Act and construction regulation
- Maintenance management
