Purpose for the job

The GS5 Fundraising Assistant (Face-to-Face) will be working collaboratively with the GS-6 Fundraising Associate (Face-to-Face) and acquisition team to achieve new donors’ targets, controlling the good quality of the recruitment process to ensure that the profile of the donors is adequate; the correct handling of the proposal and the information about UNICEF’s mission by the fundraisers; and the appropriate quality of new donors’ information. The work of the SM will be oriented to support the recruitment of as many individual donors with the best quality as possible. This post will be under the general supervision of the GS6 Fundraising Associate (Face-to-Face).

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks

Monitoring and evaluation:

In coordination with the supervisor of the post, support the following activities:

• Coordinate with the Fundraising Associate (Face-to-Face) a correct implementation of the agencies’ street calendar and privet venues.

• Conduct mystery shopper studies on a regular basis to ensure the quality of the information in the field teams.

• Monitor and propose a feedback plan to each supervisor and fundraiser of the different acquisition channels. Providing technical training to achieve goals for each campaign, improving the communication, fundraising speech and ensuring the trust in UNICEF purpose (i.e., execute call listens, donor forms review and mystery shopping activities, providing feedback in order to improve the quality and the performance of the fundraisers and their work).

Reporting and provide insights:

In coordination with the supervisor of the post, support the following activities:

• Work with the Fundraising Face-to-Face team to the day-to-day management of Face-to-Face agencies in the different cities ensuring results, as well as adapting to the needs and objectives of the program.

• Prepare reports per fundraiser, per supervisor, per campaign and per provider including performance, productivity and improvement needs for management. Make recommendations on managing fundraising teams for each campaign.

• Propose to Face-to-Face team an action plan to each fundraiser / supervisor / campaign / provider to improve the performance (results and quality) and implement the plan approve. Undertake different types of analysis information to improve and ensure campaign goals, fulfillment, and attrition rates.

Motivating fundraisers / supervisors / providers:

In coordination with the supervisor of the post, support the following activities:

• Implement ongoing training for new teams, team leaders and active fundraisers.

• Participate in field training and feedback with fundraisers and team leaders when necessary.

• Propose incentives plan that aims motivation, enthusiasm and engagement within fundraisers, teams, and providers.

• Develop and support all activities related with teamwork.

Training fundraisers:

In coordination with the supervisor of the post, support the following activities:

• Conduct training and ensure an induction plan to new fundraising members and develop new teams (in house / suppliers).

Innovating:

In coordination with the supervisor of the post, support the following activities:

• Participate in trainings about fundraising tools and techniques to have up to date techniques. Learn about UNICEF programs, visit projects and coordinate talks with program specialists through PFP team and fundraisers.

Support:

In coordination with the supervisor of the post, support the following activities:

• Be part of the planning of the In-House process and implementation.

• Support the process of the individual donor fundraising, as required.

Relationships:

In coordination with the supervisor of the post, support the following activities:

• Work with the individual acquisition team, particularly with the Face-to-Face team.

• Maintain and develop good relationship with PFP team and UNICEF team in general.

• Constant communication with the Fundraising Associate (Face-to-Face) and Fundraising Officer (Individual) teams in other countries and regional and/or global office specialist.

Impact of Results:

This post will contribute to the organizations goal as it will:

  • Provide technical training to achieve goals of each campaign giving feedback to each fundraiser of different acquisition channels.
  • Prepare and collaborate generating presentations and reports indicating performance, productivity and improvement needs for management.
  • Participate in meetings for fundraisers and teams to motivate the teams and bring feedback and new Face-to-Face testing.
  • Collaborate in the process of fundraisers trained according to the organizational needs of the PFP area.

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

1.  Education

Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Social Communication, Marketing, Finance, Social Development, or related social science field.

2. Work Experience

A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible relevant experience, preferably in direct sales, public relations, training and coaching, or marketing teams.

Desirable knowledge in fundraising, with direct sales strategies such as Face-to-Face, Telemarketing, or otherwise with corporate donor strategies, foundations, or high-profile donors.

3. Languages

Fluency in Spanish and proficient in English is required.
