Artisan Electrician Grade 2/Grade 1 Post at Sasol

An Artisan-Electrician Supports Production by providing effective equipment and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes and utilizing all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant and/or equipment

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Adhere to all safety standards & follow safe working procedures
Comply with quality control system requirements
Report all non-conformances, incidents, and accidents to Foreman
Carry out all tasks relevant to the purpose of the job
Work shift when required
Openly supports Sasol Values
Must be able to read and work from Electrical drawings
Must deliver high-quality work and must maintain high productivity
Carry out BBS observations
Must accept challenges, and must take responsibility, and accountability for his actions
Must maintain a safe working environment and practice good housekeeping
Potential to act in a higher position
Proven competence in pre-identified areas per
Discipline of the plant/mine/equipment/systems (proven application of training) for Artisan Electrician.
Fault finding.
Understand engineering drawings
Plant-specific procedures.
Understand failure modes of discipline-specific equipment.
Proactive identification of equipment failures in advance.
Experience in LV and MV installation from 117 VAC to 11 kV AC
Experience in LV and MV Motor control centres
Experience in Electrical Maintenance
Experience in the Selection and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas.
Conduct discipline-specific QA/QC: shutdowns and/or normal operations.
Apply competency across various environments/work teams.
Influence decisions and actions of stakeholders in other departments.
Stakeholder relationship management.
Coaching junior artisans in their environment/context.
Work independently.
Improve practices and/or equipment. Identify and implement innovative solutions to problems

Formal Education and Minimum Experience

Grade 12 with Maths, Science and English or N3 Maths, Science and Business English
Artisan – Electrician Grade 2 – NQF 4 Trade test , NQF 4 qualification (Chieta/WQA preferred) red seal
Artisan – Electrician Grade 1 – NQF 4 trade test, NQF 4 qualification (Chieta/WQA preferred) red seal, 18-month Experience in petrochemical or similar industry, for Sasol Candidates you require a Completed and signed off POE to progression to Grade 1
