PURPOSE:
Carry out maintenance of flow laboratory electrical/electronic instrumentation equipment and measurement standards according to the latest edition of Legal Metrology Act, SANS standards and SANAS accreditation requirements. Facilitate outsourced maintenance schedule, keep the maintenance and measurement standard calibration registers up to date at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that all measurements standards and auxiliary equipment are calibrated by approved accredited laboratory according to the schedule. Test and ensure that all equipment and measurements standards comply with statutory requirement of the SANS 1698,1697, standards and accreditation requirements before being put in- use. Conduct in-service checks to maintain confidence in the calibration status and accuracy of all measurement standards and auxiliary equipment. Implement quality assurance programs to assure confidence in reliability and accuracy of results. Ensure all measurement standard and auxiliary standards are calibrated according to the requirements of latest edition of Legal Metrology Act and SANS standards. Ensure traceability of the laboratory is assured at all times and traceable to the national or international measuring standards. Investigate root cause of non-conformances registered during internal and external audits as well as deviations from the Quality Management System and implement. Adhere to all latest edition relevant safety and environmental procedures as stipulated by the company and OHS Act. Adhering to the latest edition of legislative requirement of the National Regulator; ISO 17025 standard, Legal Metrology Act, SANS standards, Accreditation system and COJ Bi laws. Adhere to latest edition Johannesburg Water vehicle policy. Compile safe working procedures for all instruments/equipment. Conduct risk assessment for area of work.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential qualifications and experience:
• Grade 12
• National N Diploma in Light Current or Instrumentation (NQF5)
• 2 years’ experience in Instrumentation OR Light current environment
