Do you have a knack for programs development and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment? Library Aid Africa is seeking a dedicated and motivated Programs Intern to join our team and support our work in Rwanda.

About Library Aid Africa:

Library Aid Africa harnesses digital technology and citizen engagement approaches to realize the potential of libraries to deliver development.  Through our programmatic approach, Technology Innovation for Libraries, Innovation Co-Creation and Community Engagement, and Library Advocacy, Policy, and Research, we support the strategic improvement of libraries across African countries, working collaboratively with in-country library partners, library institutions, library associations, library NGO and non-profit organizations.

Position Overview:

Library Aid Africa is seeking a passionate recent graduate  to join us as a Programs Intern in Kigali, Rwanda. This role offers an incredible opportunity to be part of a transformative initiative harnessing digital technology and citizen engagement to elevate the role of libraries in development across African nations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Innovation for Libraries: Assist in implementing innovative digital solutions within libraries to enhance their services and accessibility. 
  • Innovation Co-Creation and Community Engagement: Collaborate with local communities and library partners to develop programs that resonate with their needs and foster engagement.
  • Library Advocacy, Policy, and Research: Support research efforts and advocacy campaigns aimed at advocating for the advancement of libraries and their critical role in society.

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate from a university in Rwanda with a degree in a relevant field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Passion for leveraging technology for community development and a keen interest in promoting the value of libraries.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
