ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Single point accountable person to deliver on agreed projects in the Sasolburg portfolio. The candidate will be responsible to plan, align and execute the projects by agreeing and implementing the best execution strateg. He or she must be able to demonstrate that a minimum technology solution and and a minimum execution solution is developed through Agile thinking. The candidate must ensure that the business intent of a project is met by leading, managing, facilitating and co-ordinating multi disciplinary resources across the different Business Development and Implementation phases (Feasibility, Basic development, Execution, Start-up and Close-out).
- KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Identify stakeholders and reporting requirements - Ensure accurate and timeous reporting
- Ensure overall project compliance to execution plan (SHE, Quality, Cost & Schedule)
- Ensure overall project compliance to legal and corporate governance and procedures
- Develop and implementation of project execution strategies & plans
- Develop estimates and ensure cost control
- Ensure effective integrated risk management
- Ensure implementation of comprehensive change management processes
- Ensure complete and up to date project administration
- Manage SHERQ requirements on projects; Manage project within BD&I, PMBOK, OHSAct and NEC3 boundaries
- Accountable to deliver on all 11 knowledge areas as described in Project Management Body of Knowledge
- – Project Integration Management; Project Scope Management; Project Time Management; Project Cost Management; Project Quality Management; Project Human Resource Management; Project Communications Management; Project Risk Management; Project Procurement Management; Project Stakeholders Management; SHE management
- Understand the business drivers on projects
- Effectively lead the project team to deliver on project objectives
- Create an environment of teamwork, trust and collaboration

- Alignment across team members, contractors, suppliers, plant owner, internal & external stakeholders & interfaces
- Management of internal and external stakeholders / supplier relationships and contracts
- Manage different contracting strategies, i.e. LSTK, EPC, EPCm, Alliances etc.
- Manage different execution strategies (EC partnership vs competitive bidding))
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience in capital project delivery, with specific knowledge / experience in:
conceptual, basic & detail engineering, project controls management; construction management, supply chain and NEC experience
