Impala Platinum is committed to youth skills development by providing qualified nursing learners with an opportunity to gain relevant work experience required for the PGM industry and to provide health promotion, reducing the possibly of diseases through conducting risk based medical surveillance to all employees and contractors, to ensure a healthy workforce and limit liability to the company.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • NQF Level 6 Diploma in General Nursing / Occupational Health.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing care, primary health care and health screening i.e. spirometry / audiometry.
  • Knowledge of Occupational related legislation.
  • Sound analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills essential.
  • Medically fit for BMR and or PMR.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Successful completion of a set twenty-four (24) months internship training program that will enhance general knowledge of the PGM industry and overall exposure to primary health care, medical surveillance, occupational diseases etc.
  • To provide education on health and lifestyle issues to employees and contractors.
  • To assist with medical surveillance program; pre-employment, annual/routine and exit medicals.
  • Provide primary health care services and liaise with an external multidisciplinary team.
