Purpose of Job

To manage medium-to-large projects of high complexity with a large, dispersed team. To focus on the creation of the project vision and planning documents and managing the implementation, reporting, and performance of the overall project to meet business requirements.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Define project portfolio management plans and monitor risk profiles.
Understand the total value chain of the business on projects.
Develop and implement project execution strategies and plans.
Develop estimates and ensure cost control. Set, monitor, and manage deliverables and milestones from direct reports.
Set overall KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for program/portfolio. Ensure overall project compliance to the execution plan (SHE, quality, cost, and schedule).
Ensure overall project compliance to legal and corporate governance and procedures.
Ascertain alignment across team members, contractors, suppliers, plant owner, internal and external stakeholders, and interfaces
Ensure integrated risk management is effectively done.
Ensure comprehensive change management is done.
Ensure complete and up-to-date project administration.
Manage SHERQ requirements on projects.
Integrate and manage dedicated internal and external resources (contractors).
Facilitate effective communication with both internal and external parties.
Balance required resources in line with the portfolio.
Supervise and mentor assigned project staff.
Proactively evaluate portfolio, key issues risk and performance criteria.
Apply evidence-based SHE practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations.
Implement Sasol Group’s risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework.
Build and maintain positive relationships with relevant business units to enable the achievement of value adding project portfolios.
Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete, implement, and track personal development plan to attain personal performance goals.
Manage team performance and development formally and informally based on standard practices in use across Sasol Group.
Identify and activate learning as required based on individual and collective needs.
Nurture a team spirit and openness towards feedback, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation.
