The Kenyan Public Service Announces 8,000 Internship Opportunities For Kenyan Graduates

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 8,000 internship positions for Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies under the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP).

To be eligible for an internship position, according to an advertisement on Tuesday, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

Additionally, applicants must have graduated not earlier than 2017 and demonstrate proficiency in computer skills.

The roles and responsibilities of the interns will be diverse, encompassing a range of tasks and projects within their assigned departments.

PSC added that the interns will collaborate closely with supervisors, completing duties that are mutually agreed upon and aligned with their areas of deployment.

Furthermore, they will document the skills they acquire throughout the program and participants are expected to actively engage in relevant mentorship activities and embrace additional responsibilities that have been specially designed to foster their growth and development throughout the 12-month internship period.

The interns will also be provided with a stipend during their tenure, the rate of which will be determined by the government.

Upon successful completion of the internship program, interns will be awarded a certificate, recognising their dedication and hard work during the 12-month period.

Applications for the internship positions are now open, and interested and qualified graduates are encouraged to apply through the Commission’s job portal accessible via www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psck.go.ke.

The application deadline has been set for August 14, 2023.
