The King Zwelibanzi Dalindyebo Bursary Support Programme

King Buyelekhaya Zwelibanzi Dalindyebo Bursary Support Programme is now open for 2024 applications. Applicants have until 25 November 2023 to submit their applications.

This bursary program is a testament to the King and Queen’s unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives and shape a brighter future for the AbaThembu Kingdom. By investing in the education of their youth, they are laying the foundation for a legacy of intellectual growth, economic prosperity, and social advancement.

Requirements

The students who qualify for the King Buyelekhaya Zwelibanzi DalindyebO (KBZD) bursary meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be from disadvantaged community
  • Excellent academic performance
  • You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • You must be studying or intend on studying towards an any undergraduate qualification
  • You must be studying or have applied/ registered to study at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa (University/University of Technology)
  • Must have been accepted in any public institution
  • One page motivational letter
  • Must be from one of the following areas: Mthatha, Mqanduli, Ngcobo, Ladyfrere, Cofimvaba, Cala, or Komani.

What does the bursary cover?

The KBZD Bursary is worth R120 000 and may cover the following tertiary expenses; 

  • Tuition fees,
  • Textbooks
  • Accommodation
  • Meals

Documents required for application

  • Your certified ID Document
  • Certified copy of  Matric latest results, if currently in Matric
  • Certified copy of Matric certificate, if completed Matric
  • Certified copy of Full academic record, if currently studying at tertiary level
  • Proof of tertiary registration if currently a student
  • Institution Proof of acceptance (Acceptance letter)
  • Proof of residence
  • Parents or guardians proof of household income (latest pay slips if employed, affidavit if
    unemployed, proof of pension or grant if applicable)
  • One page Motivational letter to support your application

Applications must be submitted via email at [email protected] Applications not submitted via Email will not be considered. When writing the email state that you are applying for the 2024 bursary and attach your certified documents. Your documents should be in one PDF file.
