The MTN SA Innovation Centre is hiring a Driver

Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of all assigned clerical and support functions.

  • Picks up and distributes intra-office mail from all internal collection points. 
  • Open and sorts all internal and incoming mail. 

Assumes responsibility for efficiently and effectively getting mail to customers.

  • Reviews delivery schedule and instructions and compares goods to be delivered for completeness and accuracy. Checks orders for correct number of files, envelopes or boxes, correct addresses and support documentation.
  • Follows delivery instruction.
  • Drives vehicle to customer following most cost effective routes as directed by delivery schedules.
  • Assists in unloading the order as required.  Leaves the appropriate paperwork and secures the required signatures on delivery documents.
  • Collects cheques (completes deposit slip), leases, statements etc. from respective destinations.

Assumes responsibility for efficiently picking up executives as needed.

  • Collects and transfers passengers safely to destinations. (Airports, hotels or home)
  • Collects and transfers internal messenger for banking.

Assumes responsibility for performing driving and loading functions in compliance with Company safety regulations.

  • Loads and unloads orders and supplies carefully and safely.
  • Follows all established safety standards on the road 
  • Seeks to promote safe operations with area staff and customer and vendor dock personnel.

Assumes responsibility for the following admin task related to the driving function

  • Log sheets submitted to your manager by the 3rd of each month
  • Responding to emails efficiently and effectively
  • Keeping copies of petrol slips and parking slips
  • Assisting with the receiving of mail when the mail room staff are away or not at their posts

Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication and coordination with management personnel, customers, and vendors.

  • Keeps management informed of activities and of any significant problems.
  • Assists personnel as needed.
  • Maintains regular contact with other departments to obtain information and/or correct problems.
  • Completes required forms and paperwork accurately and according to Company procedures.
  • Maintains the Company’s professional reputation.

Assumes other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Keeps vehicles well maintained, safe, and secure.
  • Report all maintenance issues
  • b.     Performs special projects as required.


  • Matric 
  • Driver’s Licence 
  • 1 – 2 years delivery experience 
  • Knowledge of geograophical area
  • Knowledge of basic Department structure and work and information flow.
  • General office experience helpful.
  • Interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to apply safety standards.
  • Safe driving skills.  Ability to drive large delivery trucks.
  • Ability to use forklift.
