The University of Cape Town is hiring a Lecturer
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to a 2.5-year full–time contract position in the Department of Social Work & Social Development at Lecturer level preferably from 01 May 2023 or sooner.
Requirements:
- Must be a registered Social Worker with the Council of Social Services Professions (SACSSP).
- The candidate must have completed a masters degree in clinical social work.
- An understanding of the policy and practice environments of social service professions in South Africa and the regulatory contexts within which social services are provided.
Advantages:
- Professional practice experience in a clinical or therapeutic Social Work milieu for example children, adolescents and families.
- Evidence of internship and field practicum supervision in clinical social work
- Evidence of research supervision at postgraduate level in social work, social development and socialplanning and administration, desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching courses in social work, social development and clinical social work at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Convenorship of courses and undergraduate and post graduate levels
- Research supervision at Honours and Masters level (for a Lecturer with a PhD, this includes PhD students)
- Supervision of Masters clinical internships.
- Conducting, managing and publishing research.
Salary for this post: R601 928 PA
