Astron Energy 2024 Bursary for Young South Africans

Astron Energy is a leading supplier of petroleum products in Southern Africa, with a vast network of over 850 service stations which makes Astron the second largest fuel retail network in South Africa.  A proud Level 1 B-BBEE contributor, Astron is strongly committed to being a responsible corporate citizen, promoting education and economic development in an effort to build stronger communities and drive sustainable growth.

About the Bursary

The bursary scheme forms part of Astron Energy’s commitment to skills development, meaningful socio-economic transformation, and the country’s broader development agenda. 

The sponsorship offers the following: 

  1. Full bursaries to attend ANY registered higher education institution covering tuition, textbooks, accommodation, food, and other approved necessities.
  2. On-going psycho-social support provided by Excel@Uni.
  3. Light-touch mentorship for developing essential skills imperative for personal and professional growth.  
  4. The goal is to fund students in the following faculties: Commerce, Science, Engineering & Built Environment 

Who can apply

  1. Applicants must be under 35 years of age.   
  2. Applicants must be South African citizens.
  3. Applicants must be pursuing a FULL-TIME qualification (Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree, Masters, Etc) 
  4. Applicants must be pursuing their qualification-level for the first time (ie, not repeating a degree, honours, etc)
  5. Applicants must be pursuing a qualification or intending to pursue a qualification at any tertiary institution registered with DHET and SAQA. (This includes private/community colleges and TVETS)
