This Oprah Winfrey Leadership scholarship is for less privileged girls in South Africa. Also, the academy is a female boarding school founded by Oprah Winfrey to provide educational and leadership opportunities for academically gifted girls from impoverished backgrounds.
Scholarship applications for 2024 are now open and will continue to be accepted by AFRICAN PEOPLE INTELLIGENCE, the agency appointed to provide learner recruitment services on behalf of the academy.
Eligibility
To apply for this scholarship, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:
- They have achieved 70% and above for both Maths and English in their 2022 final report
- They are currently in Grade 7 going into Grade 8, or Grade 8 going into Grade 9 in 2024
- Their combined household income does not exceed R10, 000
