The 2024 Internship Programme will comprise a month of intensive training during February. After this training, participants will be assessed and potentially offered positions with our company, starting in March 2024.

The training course will be hosted by C4’s staff and will expose participants to the intricacies of climate change development, focussing on accessing climate finance through global funds such as the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Adaptation Fund (AF) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). Participants will also be exposed to aspects of C4’s climate mitigation work, including carbon assessments and developing voluntary carbon projects. Throughout the process, the internship training will draw on real-life examples, as well as a series of theoretical exercises to foster a firm, practical understanding of the development process. Training topics will include:

 an introduction to global climate finance;
 C4’s experience with ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA);
 defining the climate rationale of a project;
 assessing climate change vulnerabilities;
 structuring a climate change project for the GCF, AF and GEF;
 writing in the appropriate style for UN clients;
 managing the project development process;
 an introduction to undertaking carbon assessments; and
 assessing the potential for developing carbon projects and available carbon credits
