Diplomat South Africa is recruiting for the role of Graduate-Process Engineer in the IT Department, based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The position will report to the Business Digital Transformation Manager.

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the role is to ensure a continuous improvement in procedures, performance, and productivity, with a methodical, professional, and valued approach, in order to enhance the company’s added value on its way to achieving its overall goal.

Support and drive continuous improvement tools and methodology to ensure constant improvement of business processes and procedures.
Support the elimination of waste in work processes within the company.

Evaluate effectiveness of operational processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Provide project management support to the business as required to ensure project goals are met.
Collaborate with multifunctional team to ensure project goals are achieved.

Periodic review of the business’ route to market – network analysis and optimise business routes.
Conduct time and motion studies and define standard time accordingly.
Periodic determine required personnel based on defined standard times.

Periodic review of warehouse layouts and picking sequence to improve workflow, quality, and productivity.
Evaluate best practices and innovative solutions which could improve operations.
Where relevant for a project implemented, train staff on new processes and develop instructions and manuals.

Analyse trends, exceptions and deviations in operations and communicate to the relevant stakeholders.
Periodic reports (including monthly KPIs) to management in areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate the feasibility / ROI of projects at initiation phase.

Support the elimination of waste in daily work processes.
Collaborate with multifunctional team to ensure project goals are achieved.
Improve the procedures for interfacing the internal and external elements in the value chain.

Create dashboards and submit reports to managers to assist them to effectively manage operations.
Ensure achievement of key performance areas in operations to facilitate business effectiveness.
Effect surveys (as required with projects) and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.

Creating a culture of innovation within the organization by encouraging employees to think outside the box and embrace new technologies.
Periodically conduct audits to ensure accuracy and validity.
Ensure all new requirements/requests align with business strategy and add value.

Manage projects to ensure on time delivery and meeting the expected outcomes.
Analyse trends, exceptions and deviations in the business and communicate to relevant stakeholders.
Evaluate effectiveness of processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Conduct process analysis and process mapping for the business.
Coach and mentor staff during implementation of projects. Conduct training of end users where applicable.
Continuously review operating procedures and test that it is followed by employees.

Report unsafe conditions or occupational safety health risks immediately.
